Dear Friends of Wittenborg, Students, Alumni, Teachers and Staff

With this gentle reminder about our grand opening of the new location at Spoorstraat 23 we would like to give some information regarding the event.
The official opening ceremony takes place at 4pm, at which the Mayor of Apeldoorn, together with representatives of the provincial government, the city council, business and education will officially open the building.

Between 4.30 and 5.30 there will be an opportunity to have a guided tour of our new facility, during which an opportunity for networking with drinks and snacks will start, and the bar will remain open
From 5.30 the informal party will start with live music,snacks and drinks.

Presents
We understand that some of you would like to give a present, as a way of congratulating us for our new building and you can imagine that although we like flowers and wine and chocolates, it would be more appropriate to give something that is a present to all of Wittenborg.
We therefore request all those wishing to give a present, to instead make a donation to the ‘Debbie Kuang Memorial Scholarship Fund’.

This fund was started in memory of Chinese student Kuang Huihong (Debbie) who passed away in May 2012 month after losing her long battle with cancer. Many staff and students were involved in supporting Debbie during her sickness, and she herself asked for the school to establish a fund that could help students in difficulty, or requiring financial assistance.

Until now, Wittenborg has given over 20 scholarships to students from developing countries and has used the fund to support a number of students already studying who required assistance.
The fund is being managed by the Stichting (Trust) of the Spoorstraat building, and donations can be made to the following bank account number: NL65RABO 0159 2264 22, of the Stichting Wittenborg University Accommodation, with comment 'Debbie Fund".

Music
The live music at the opening event, is provided by an all-male Celtic choir from Epe, and a local band, also from Epe. The music has been arranged through a donation made by Wittenborg, as part of fund-raising event for the hospice in Epe where Debbie spent her last weeks.

Parking
As the area around the Spoorstraat is being developed, there is still adequate space available for parking, along the side of the Fotovakschool, and the ‘Nettenfabriek’ complex.
Parking for guests is at: Nettenfabriek, Spoorstraat 29, 5831 CH, Apeldoorn - (Parking can be accessed from the back via Kanaalstraat-Noord then Polstraat)
