EuroBA Hospitality Students in Business!

Three EuroBA students from Wittenborg’s partner institute in France, Ecole de Savignac, is living their dream after successfully raising enough money on the crowdfunding platform Kiss Kiss Bank Bank to start their own baby food business. The EuroBA - or BA Hons International Hospitality Management - is a double degree programme Wittenborg University offers with the University of Brighton in the UK.

The EuroBA allows IBA Hospitality Management students to spend year 2 of their studies at a partner institute in Germany (ANGELL Business School) and year 3 at the University of Brighton and Ecole de Savignac in France. Students can also opt to spend 2 years at Wittenborg completing only their final year at Brighton. Upon completion of their studies, successful candidates are awarded a degree from Wittenborg University and from the University of Brighton.

The three students from Savignac - Edouard Ampuy, Arthur Begou and Clément Girault - managed to amass €8 120 after appealing for €8 000 in crowdfunding to start their own business.

The idea behind their company, Comme des Papas, is to offer food for infants that matches the need of young parents today.

“Parents are increasingly demanding information on food nutrition, taste quality, transparency and want to make sure what their babies are eating is safe,” the trio explains on the drive behind their business. “Often their is a lack of confidence in what is currently on offer.”

“Our idea is to offer a range of quality dishes, prepared with fresh local and seasonal products and using a gentle cooking process, thus preserving the quality of the products.”

Since their target market is the modern parent, the products are on sale on their website, at different distribution points and they even home-deliver!”

According to the three students the money from Kiss Kiss Bank Bank is enough to run the company and its website.

Typical products would be pureed butternut and pork tenderloin, cream of parsnip, leek and cheese as well as pear compote with cinnamon. The dishes are prepared exclusively from organic ingredients and priority is given to taste.

The three young businessmen are currently finalizing their studies at Savignac in Dordogne in France.
