New Master of Science students from across the world arrived at Wittenborg’s Apeldoorn campus this week for 3 packed days of Introduction Week activities before they formally start their programmes.

Three Packed Days of Orientation for New MSc Students

The new students are from Canada, Norway, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Nigeria, Nepal, Salvador and Taiwan. The programmes they will follow are MSc in International Event Management, MSc in International Tourism Management and MSc in International Hospitality Management. Some are yet to arrive from different parts of the globe. In total, there are 19 new MSc students so far for the new academic year.

All Wittenborg’s MSc programmes are offered jointly with the University of Brighton in the UK which means upon graduation students will earn a double degree.

Those members of the group who had already arrived by Monday were welcomed with coffee and an opportunity to meet staff, including Wittenborg directors Maggie Feng and Peter Birdsall. There will be another Introduction Week on 10 October.

On Tuesday, the group spent all day at the Spoorstraat building in Apeldoorn following an Introduction Day programme facilitated by Brighton lecturer, Chris Dutton, who explained policy procedures and offered guidance on using the handbooks, learning to study at master's level, how students can access sources of information, as well as the art of writing essays and reports at that level.

Wednesday there will be some group work, the referencing system and avoiding plagiarism as well as sharpening presentation skills and using online resources.
