MCI Phase 3

The business environment of firms has become increasingly dynamic due to changing customer demands, competition, legislation, technologies, etc. It is difficult for large firms to remain successful and competitive in that dynamic landscape. More precisely, managers of large firms are confronted with a fundamental question “how can we innovate and realize company growth by developing and managing new businesses?” The Corporate Entrepreneurship module is based on theories of the firm and highlights in particular key aspects of processes of new business development and strategic innovation in established companies.

Aims and Objectives of this module:
Design and manage successful new ventures in an existing firm;
Manage critical organisational factors which drive corporate venturing.
Equips students with appropriate frameworks and tools to identify, develop, and exploit new business opportunities;
Understand how managers achieve company growth by starting, developing, and managing new businesses within and outside firms.
Help and advice companies to strategically develop new businesses, by acquiring and applying the associated scientific, entrepreneurial, managerial, and advisory skills
Understand and experience how various disciplines come together in the area of strategic and corporate entrepreneurship, like intellectual property rights, group processes within and outside the firm, changing legislation, motivation of employees, client relationships, real options, and technological developments.
