Successful intercultural summer event organised by Wittenborg Student Society SWIFT

Today, the Wittenborg Student Society (known as SWIFT) organized a cultural event at a local bar, in Apeldoorn. Students brought traditional (from their own cultures) home-cooked food  and some even dressed in their own traditional dress.

Priscilla Owesu, one of the students, said "it's great to meet other cultures through the sharing of food".

SWIFT president Eric Coerver said he was 'delighted with how the event went'.

There were speeches by students and a guest speaker recalling her experiences about living in Nepal.

The students held a two minute silence in remembrance of a Wittenborg student who passed away from illness suddenly last week and at the end of the evening they released three memory balloons to remember him in a small ceremony of honor.

The event was supported by live music provided by students.

'All in all a gathering everyone enjoyed at the lovely summery 'Heerlijk Lokaal' in Apeldoorn', according to Front Desk Student Support manager Eva van Herel.
