At Wittenborg You Will Find the International Classroom As It Is Supposed To Be

The unique international nature of Wittenborg University is not only present in its English-taught programmes, international focus, or international staff. With an average of 12 to 15 different nationalities per class – class sizes differ from 5 up to 30 students – Wittenborg is in fact unique in the Netherlands as a top business school with around 200 students, amongst whom nearly 40 different nationalities are present at the moment.

While running international programmes, institutes of higher education strive to profile themselves as a provider of an international learning environment. However, looking at the statistics, this way of profiling might be perceived as dishonest when the classes of such a programme exist of, for example, three nationalities comprising up to 95% of the class, with the remainder consisting of a few, if more than one, other nationalities.

Wittenborg Students From Across The GlobeAt Wittenborg, for example, you will not find classes filled solely with Chinese, German, and Dutch students: as explained before, the classes of Wittenborg Business School are extremely diverse when looking at different nationalities and, as a result, different cultural perspectives, opinions, and ways of doing business. This diverse input creates lessons in which a student learns from the different cultural approach their fellow student has. This allows them to create a competitive advantage when it comes to ways of doing business in these different cultures.

As a Dutch student you will find it fun and useful – and maybe even expect – that when you choose to do an international study programme, you will find yourself amongst an international group of students as well. At Wittenborg, the Dutch students form the largest “nationality group”, amounting to approximately 20 to 25 per cent of the total students. For them, the experience of studying at Wittenborg is unique, useful, and something they will carry the benefits of for the rest of their professional careers.

Amongst the students who started the International Business Administration programme this February, two new nationalities joined Wittenborg: Mongolia and Kenya. The next enrollment date is the 4th of April, 2011.
