Two Private Schools Working Together

As from September 2011, two private schools in Apeldoorn will work together: Wittenborg University Business School and secondary school Parkendaal Lyceum will offer a programme to final year Parkendaal students which will prepare them for higher and scientific education in an elaborate way.

Statistics show that 17% of all first year university students quit their studies prematurely. This can be the result of choosing the wrong study programme, but a heavy study load and incorrect expectations of the chosen study programme play an important role as well.

According to Parkendaal and Wittenborg, the number of drop-outs can be significantly reduced if students orientate and prepare themselves well for the studies ahead of them. Moreover, students need to master beforehand a number of skills their future education demands from them.

This is why the two private schools will start the so-called 'University Prep Course', which will be offered to graduating Parkendaal students.
