For a Bachelor's student, to be eligible for Internship/Work Placement (WP), he/she must satisfy the following requirements:

1. Have passed PDP1 (Personal Development Programme) in Phase (Year) 1 and PDP2 (in Phase (Year) 2.

3. Have obtained a minimum of 160 EC (European Credits) or completed Phases (Year) 1 and 2 of the Bachelor's Programme in full OR

4. Have obtained 80 EC for EBA (Entrepreneurial Business Administration) double-degree programme.

Note:

• You are not allowed to start your internship without the signed Nuffic agreement. Any work hours prior to the signed Nuffic agreement will not count for the hours necessary to fulfil this work placement module.
• For an internship in the Netherlands, Dutch law requires applicants to be either a European Citizen OR to be currently enrolled in an educational institution as a student. It should be noted that after graduation, you will in general no longer be able to take an internship in the Netherlands. Your Work Placement ending date must be within the period of your registration at Wittenborg. Please make sure you have an up-to-date Registration Letter which covers your Work Placement duration.
• More importantly, working without a signed Nuffic agreement or a work permit is considered illegal in the Netherlands. Wittenborg will not be responsible for any legal issues arising in this case.

All information regarding Internship/Work Placement is in the EEG part 7. It clearly details all the necessary steps involved from before the internship starts until the completion of the internship. All requirements must be fulfilled before you can start the internship. If after reading the EEG you still have any doubts, you can contact your Process Tutor or the External Relations & WP team at externalrelations@wittenborg.eu. 

Yes, you can apply for internship or work during summer holidays. However, please notice that the administrative process might be slower than usual during the holiday period.

Internships are only possible and allowed while you are still registered at the university. You can do your internship only during your study and not after the completion of your studies.

Your internship will officially and legally begin only if you have completed the application procedure which should be agreed and signed by the university.

As a first step, begin by contacting your process tutor to discuss about the internship opportunities that you may come across.

You can login with your username and password provided by the Administration Office. You will then be asked to edit your profile, which happens only one time. After you have logged in for the first time, the Webmaster will add your account under 'Students'. Students will be placed in their relevant classes.

With your student number and password login combination, you can login to the 365 Office Exchange Email and Exchange System.

Assignments online

Intranet is used more and more by Wittenborg to allow students to upload their assignments. The intranet enables students and their teachers to keep an accurate record of progress and to communicate with each other about students’ studies.

Wittenborg offers students an introduction day to make sure students have all the information and documents they need to start their education at the university.

Introduction Week consists of three parts.

Wednesday: For International Students

International students will receive all information and documentation regarding registration in the Netherlands. The Wittenborg Front Desk will also provide information about living in the city, and all legal registration information. On this day, there is an ICT session for all new students to learn how to use Online area and know about their specialisation and modules. This is a very important session and students should not miss it.

Thursday: General Introduction Day

The general introduction is mandatory for all students of Wittenborg. Front Desk will collect the names of all students for attendance. They will also explain what can be expected on the day. On the introduction day there will also be a lunch arranged with pictures.

Introduction day will end around 14:00.

Friday morning: For All Students

Students will have two sessions: academic English and Harvard referencing. The English writing diagnostic test will also take place on Friday of the introduction week. 

If students have missed parts of the introduction day, catch-up may be done in Project Week.

 We have 80% of books online now in our database (Perlego & Ebsco). Student's may only borrow physical books if the e-copy is not available in the database.

Step1: Upon arriving in the Netherlands, you are required to register yourself at the Municipality you live in. Then, you receive the BSN, which is a pre-requisite to open the bank account.    

Step2: You open a bank account in the Netherlands.  

Step3: You provide the Finance Department or Registry Office (registrar@wittenborg.eu) your bank account number and the name in which the account was opened, on or before the 20th of the month. 

Living expenses will be paid on the 1st of each month upon receiving the bank details on time in the previous month. Delayed information will lead to a delay of commencement of payment by one month. 

The initial lump sum payment of living expenses will be paid in 12 equal monthly installments. It is possible to receive up to a maximum of 3 months of living expenses in the first installment upon your request based on the start date of your degree program. 

Wittenborg is continuously looking for possibilities to support students with finding suitable accommodation in Amsterdam. However, the responsibility for finding a room in Amsterdam ultimately lies with the student. Finding a place to live in Amsterdam can be quite a challenge; therefore, we recommend you to look for your new home as early as possible. It is also possible to opt for Student Housing in Apeldoorn. The distance between the Amsterdam campus and Apeldoorn is around 1.5 hours by train and costs around 17 euro one way (www.ns.nl).

Yes, the Netherlands is one of the safest countries to live in. You have to take certain precautions, i.e. do not leave your phone, suitcase, or wallet unattended. The city of Apeldoorn in general is a very safe place to live. 

Please go to the city hall of the municipal area in which you found or lost the item, or refer to www.verlorenofgevonden.nl or www.ilost.co. You cannot go to the police for lost and found items. If you have lost one of your belongings, it is not possible to file a report.

Students get unenrolled if they are not active in the course area for 21 consecutive days.

We encourage all students to enrol for block-specific modules only, as class attendance is directly linked to enrolled modules and will be marked accordingly.
